The PADI Advanced Open Water course is the next level of scuba diving certification that builds upon the skills and knowledge you gained in the PADI Open Water course. This course is designed to enhance your diving abilities, increase your confidence underwater, and introduce you to new types of diving.
The PADI Advanced Open Water course typically consists of five open water dives, including two required dives - Deep Dive and Navigation Dive, and three elective dives chosen by the student. Elective dive options include drift diving, wreck diving, night diving, underwater photography, and many others.
The Deep Dive involves descending to a depth of between 60-100 feet (18-30 meters) and learning about the effects of pressure on the body and equipment. The Navigation Dive teaches you how to use a compass and natural features to navigate underwater.
The three elective dives allow you to explore different types of diving and learn new skills based on your interests. For example, the Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive helps you improve your buoyancy control, while the Night Dive lets you experience the unique and thrilling sensations of diving in the dark.
The PADI Advanced Open Water course is an excellent way to develop your scuba diving skills and gain more confidence underwater. It is also a prerequisite for many other PADI specialty courses and is recognized worldwide as a qualification that allows you to dive deeper and more challenging dive sites.
